Desmond Young (Airdrie, AB) lost 7-3 to Nathan Molberg (St. Albert, AB) in the Final of the Crestwood U18 Juvenile Mens Bonspiel, held December 8 - 10, 2017 at the Crestwood Curling Club in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Young won 5-4 over Jacob Libbus (Black Diamond, AB) in the semifinals
 
Young finished 3-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Young defeated Lane Missel (Sherwood Park, AB) 9-8, then won 9-2 against Cole Ector (Calgary, AB) and 7-3 against Connor Zeidell (Medicine Hat, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
