In their opening game, Stefanik defeated Robert Williams (Rochester, NY) 8-5, then went on to lose 9-8 against Frederick Dubberley (Plainfield, NJ). Stefanik responded with a 11-7 win over Mark Mooney (Plainfield, NJ). Stefanik went on to lose 7-6 against Benj Guzman (Wayland, MA). Stefanik responded with a 7-4 win over Brian Dauernheim (Laurel, MD). Stefanik won 9-2 against Timothy Ho (Wayland, MA), then won 9-2 against Dubberley in their final qualifying round match.
