Bruce lost 5-3 to Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC) where Bruce responded with a 7-5 win over Alek Bedard (Lacolle, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Bruce earned 2.382 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
