Ross Whyte (Dumfries, SCO) finished 9-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Magnus Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR) 8-6, then won 7-2 against Sixten Totzek (Fuessen, GER) and 6-5 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, CAN). Whyte won 10-3 against Aleksandr Bystrov (Moscow, RUS), then won 7-5 against Hyeonjun Hwang (Chuncheon, KOR) and 6-5 against Andrew Stopera (Blaine, USA). Whyte won 10-5 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI), then won 6-1 against Zhi Yu Wang (Harbin, CHN) and 7-3 against Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the World Junior Mens Curling Championship, Whyte take home 16.302 world rankings points. For week 31 of the event schedule, Whyte did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Whyte ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
