Zhi Yu Wang (Harbin, CHN) finished 3-6 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang lost 7-3 to Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE), droppimg another game, 7-1 to Andrew Stopera (Blaine, USA) where Wang responded with a 7-4 win over Aleksandr Bystrov (Moscow, RUS). Wang went on to lose 8-7 against Sixten Totzek (Fuessen, GER). Wang responded with a 7-5 win over Tyler Tardi (Langley, CAN). Wang went on to lose 7-4 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI). Wang lost 9-2 to Magnus Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR). Wang lost 6-1 to Ross Whyte (Dumfries, SCO) where Wang responded with a 8-7 win over Hyeonjun Hwang (Chuncheon, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Wang earned 1.334 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 31 of the event schedule, Wang did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Wang ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
