Totzek went on to lose 9-7 against Andrew Stopera (Blaine, USA). Totzek responded with a 8-7 win over Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE). Totzek went on to lose 4-2 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Totzek earned 1.778 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
