Hyeonjun Hwang (Chuncheon, KOR) finished 2-7 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hwang defeated Sixten Totzek (Fuessen, GER) 10-4, then went on to lose 9-8 against Aleksandr Bystrov (Moscow, RUS). Hwang lost 6-3 to Andrew Stopera (Blaine, USA). Hwang lost 8-3 to Jan Hess (Zug, SUI). Hwang lost 7-5 to Ross Whyte (Dumfries, SCO) where Hwang responded with a 9-7 win over Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE). Hwang went on to lose 10-3 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, CAN). Hwang lost 9-5 to Magnus Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR). Hwang lost 8-7 to Zhi Yu Wang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Hwang earned 0.889 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 31 of the event schedule, Hwang did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hwang ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
