Sarah Mallais (Saint John, NB) lost 7-5 to Sylvie Robichaud (Moncton, NB) in the Final of the New Brunswick Scotties, held January 4 - 7, 2018 at the Curl Moncton in Moncton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Mallais won 6-5 over Jennifer Armstrong (Saint John, NB) in the semifinals of the 2018 New Brunswick Scotties in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada;
 
Mallais finished 3-2 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mallais lost 7-4 to Armstrong, then responded with a 7-6 win over Robichaud. Mallais won 8-1 against Shannon Tatlock (Moncton, NB), then won 7-5 against Samantha Crook (Sackville, NB). Mallais went on to lose 5-2 against Justine Comeau (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the New Brunswick Scotties, Mallais take home 4.538 world rankings points, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 131st place overall with 25.011 total points. Mallais ranks 109th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 18.022 points earned so far this season.
