Eddie MacKenzie (Charlottetown, PEI) is set to play MacKenzie in the Final MacKenzie advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the PEI Tankard, held January 4 - 7, 2018 at the Charlottetown Curling Club in Charlottetown, Canada. To advance to the championship game, MacKenzie won 12-4 over John Likely (Charlottetown, PEI) in the semifinals of the 2018 PEI Tankard in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada;
 
MacKenzie finished 5-1 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacKenzie defeated Likely 10-9, then won 9-3 against Tyler Harris (Charlottetown, PEI) and 10-7 against Phil Gorveatt (Charlottetown, PEI). MacKenzie went on to lose 10-8 against Likely. MacKenzie responded with a 7-4 win over Harris. MacKenzie won 7-2 against Likely in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the PEI Tankard Championship title, MacKenzie earned 2.625 world rankings points, moving up 39 spots the World Ranking Standings into 342nd place overall with 6.069 total points. MacKenzie ranks 294th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.625 points earned so far this season.
