Jestyn Murphy (Mississauga, ON) lost 7-6 to Cora Farrell (Blaine, USA) in the Final of the U21 Royal Slam, held September 8 - 10, 2017 at the K-W Granite Club in Waterloo, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Murphy won 9-6 over Marie-Elaine Little (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 U21 Royal Slam in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-1 over Laurie St-Georges (Laval, QC) in the quarterfinals.
 
Murphy finished 4-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy defeated Calissa Daly (Halifax, NS) 10-1, then won 5-2 against Madison Bear (Blaine, USA) and 8-1 against Quinn Walsh (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON). Murphy won 6-2 against Courtney Auld (Toronto, ON). Murphy went on to lose 5-4 against Little in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week 5 of the event schedule, Murphy did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Murphy ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
