Andrew Stopera (Evanston, IL) finished 2-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stopera defeated Sean Murray (St. Paul, MN) 6-4, then went on to lose 7-5 against Alex Leichter (Boston, MA). Stopera lost 9-7 to Kroy Nernberger (Madison, WI) where Stopera responded with a 7-1 win over Todd Ussatis (Bismarck, ND). Stopera went on to lose 7-6 against Tucker Smith (Bismarck, ND) in their final qualifying round match.
