Mike Freeman (Abbotsford, BC) finished 3-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Freeman lost 7-6 to Stephen Schneider (New Westminster, BC), droppimg another game, 7-5 to Paul Henderson (Victoria, BC) where Freeman responded with a 7-3 win over Steve Hanni (Mission, BC). Freeman won 9-4 against Richard Brower (Richmond, BC), then won 9-6 against Henderson. Freeman went on to lose 6-5 against Grant Dezura (Maple Ridge, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Freeman earned 1.069 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 139 spots the World Ranking Standings into 474th place overall with 1.069 total points. Freeman ranks 345th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.069 points earned so far this season.
