In their opening game, Longworth defeated Paul Henderson (Victoria, BC) 7-4, then won 6-5 against Stephen Schneider (New Westminster, BC) and 7-5 against Jeff Guignard (New Westminster, BC). Longworth won 9-6 against Glen Jackson (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the BC Mens - Lower Mainland Playdowns Championship title, Longworth earned 9.975 world rankings points.
