Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS) lost 8-5 to Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the Nova Scotia Scotties, held January 9 - 14, 2018 at the Dartmouth Curling Club in Dartmouth, Canada. To advance to the championship game, MacDiarmid won 7-4 over Jill Brothers (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2018 Nova Scotia Scotties in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada;
 
MacDiarmid finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacDiarmid defeated Arsenault 5-4, then won 7-5 against Colleen Jones (Haifax, NS) and 8-6 against Isabelle Ladouceur (Halifax, NS). MacDiarmid won 9-4 against Julie McEvoy (Halifax, NS), then won 5-3 against Colleen Pinkney (Halifax, NS). MacDiarmid went on to lose 8-6 against Theresa Breen (Halifax, NS). MacDiarmid lost 7-5 to Brothers in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Nova Scotia Scotties, MacDiarmid take home 8.663 world rankings points, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 58th place overall with 106.173 total points.
