Matt Mann (Prince Albert, SK) finished 1-3 in the 19-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mann lost 8-1 to Michael Vereschagin (Saskatoon, SK), droppimg another game, 11-1 to Michael Carss (Saskatoon, SK) where Mann responded with a 10-9 win over Vereschagin. Mann went on to lose 8-6 against Aron Hershmiller (Yorkton, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
