Trevor Marquardt (Poynette, WI) lost 8-3 to Andrew Stopera (Briarcliff Manor, NY) in the Final of the USA Junior Mens National Championship, held January 27 - February 3, 2018 at the Detroit Curling Club in Ferndale, United States. To advance to the championship game, Marquardt won 8-4 over Nicholas Connolly (Seattle, WA) in the semifinals of the 2018 USA Junior Mens National Championship in Ferndale, Michigan, United States;
 
Marquardt finished 5-4 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Marquardt defeated Riley Fenson (Bemidji, MN) 7-2, then won 7-6 against Andrew McDonald (Hudson, OH) and 7-6 against Timothy Hodek (Fairdale, ND). Marquardt went on to lose 8-4 against Wesley Wendling (Wausau, WI). Marquardt responded with a 9-2 win over Kevin Tuma (St. Paul, MN). Marquardt went on to lose 6-5 against Josh Moore (Mapleton, MN). Marquardt lost 6-2 to Stopera where Marquardt responded with a 8-1 win over Jack Clasen (Roseville, MN). Marquardt went on to lose 9-6 against Connolly in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the USA Junior Mens National Championship, Marquardt take home 11.208 world rankings points. For week 26 of the event schedule, Marquardt did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Marquardt ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
