McMakin responded with a 8-7 win over Cora Farrell (Blaine, MN). McMakin went on to lose 8-2 against Maya Willertz (Midland, MI). McMakin responded with a 7-2 win over Sara Olson (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
