Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) lost 7-5 to Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI) in the Final of the Swiss Curling Championship, held February 10 - 17, 2018 in Flims, Switzerland.
 
Schwaller finished 9-1 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller defeated Yves Hess (Zug, SUI) 10-4, then won 10-8 against Felix Attinger (Dubendorf, SUI) and 9-3 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI). Schwaller won 6-4 against Pfister, then won 8-3 against Lucien Lottenbach (Luzern, SUI). Schwaller went on to lose 11-9 against Hess. Schwaller responded with a 7-6 win over Hess. Schwaller won 8-7 against Lottenbach, then won 7-1 against Attinger and 4-2 against Pfister in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Swiss Curling Championship, Schwaller take home 13.324 world rankings points. Schwaller move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 10.836 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 42nd overall with 180.997 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
