Graham Shaw (Perth, SCO) 8-6, then won 8-7 against Murray Young (Forfar, SCO). Kinnear went on to lose 8-2 against Greg Drummond (Stirling, SCO). Kinnear responded with a 10-8 win over Cameron McNay (Edinburgh, SCO). Kinnear won 6-4 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Kinnear went on to lose 7-2 against Cameron Bryce (Borders, SCO). Kinnear lost 8-2 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) where Kinnear responded with a 7-2 win over Fraser Hare (Stranraer, SCO). Kinnear won 6-4 against Stuart Taylor (Glawgow, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Kinnear earned 13.783 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Scottish Curling Championships.
