Hare responded with a 5-3 win over Cameron McNay (Edinburgh, SCO). Hare went on to lose 6-5 against Murray Young (Forfar, SCO). Hare lost 7-2 to Callum Kinnear (Perth, SCO). Hare lost 7-2 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Hare earned 2.297 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
