McNay lost 10-4 to Cameron Bryce (Borders, SCO) where McNay responded with a 8-3 win over Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). McNay won 7-4 against Murray Young (Forfar, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
McNay earned 5.743 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
