To advance to the championship game, Friesen won 6-2 over Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the Morris MJCT Mens Spiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Friesen finished 3-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Friesen defeated Jayden Rutter (Winkler, MB) 6-1, then won 5-2 against Jack Hykaway (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-5 against Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
