Steffen R. Mellemseter (Oppdal, NOR) qualified for the 2018 Norwegian National Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-5 against Johan Hostmaehlingen (Lillehammer, NOR). of the 2018 Norwegian National Championship in Lillehammer, Norway;

Mellemseter finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mellemseter defeated Lucas Hostmaehlingen (Lillehammer, NOR) 7-3, then won 10-0 against Olav Kringlebotn (Hedmarken, NOR) and 9-0 against Thomas Lindekleiv (Kristiansand, NOR). Mellemseter went on to lose 5-3 against Thomas Ulsrud (Snaroen, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Mellemseter earned 3.070 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Norwegian National Championship, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 162nd place overall with 30.204 total points. Mellemseter ranks 128th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 26.305 points earned so far this season.
