Gates/Bonot lost 6-5 to Ashley Groff/Kyle Doering (Winnipeg, MB) where Gates/Bonot responded with a 10-3 win over Jody Smallwood/Bob Smallwood (Whitehorse, YK). Gates/Bonot won 7-4 against Katie Cottrill/Shawn Cottrill (Listowel, ON), then won 9-5 against Roxane Perron/Jesse Mullen (Montreal, QC). Gates/Bonot went on to lose 5-4 against Kadriana Sahaidak/Colton Lott (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
