Atsushi Kamigochi (Hokkaido, JPN) finished 2-6 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kamigochi lost 14-0 to Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then responded with a 5-4 win over Kazuhisa Unoura (Osaka, JPN). Kamigochi went on to lose 6-3 against Naomasa Takeda (Sapporo, JPN). Kamigochi lost 8-7 to Takeda. Kamigochi lost 4-1 to Masaki Iwai (Hokkaido, JPN). Kamigochi lost 9-5 to Yoshiro Shimizu (Karuizawa, JPN) where Kamigochi responded with a 6-1 win over Minori Suzuki (Aomori, JPN). Kamigochi went on to lose 9-6 against Junpei Kanda (Tokyo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Kamigochi earned 0.713 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 116 spots the World Ranking Standings into 533rd place overall with 0.713 total points. Kamigochi ranks 429th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.713 points earned so far this season.
