Jacobs finished 9-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated Bottcher 10-2, then won 8-2 against Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL) and 7-3 against Martin Crete (Levis, QC). Jacobs won 10-4 against John Likely (Charlottetown, PEI), then won 7-5 against Kirk Muyres (Saskatoon, SK) and 9-5 against Mike McEwen (West St. Paul, MB). Jacobs won 10-5 against Jon Solberg (Whitehorse, YK), then won 11-5 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Jacobs went on to lose 7-6 against Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON). Jacobs responded with a 7-6 win over Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN). Jacobs went on to lose 7-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Jacobs earned 42.515 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Tim Hortons Brier, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 30.252 after improving upon their best so far this season.
