Solberg won 7-6 against Mike McEwen (West St. Paul, MB). Solberg went on to lose 10-3 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Solberg responded with a 8-7 win over John Likely (Charlottetown, PEI). Solberg went on to lose 10-5 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Solberg earned 11.254 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 196 spots the World Ranking Standings into 204th place overall with 13.504 total points. Solberg ranks 204th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.504 points earned so far this season.
