Chelsea Carey (Edmonton, AB) won 7-5 over Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Canad Inns Women's Classic, held October 18 - 21, 2018 at the Portage Curling Club in Portage La Prairie, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Carey won 7-2 over Sijia Liu (Harbin, CHN) in the semifinals of the 2018 Canad Inns Women's Classic in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada; and won 8-6 over Chrissy Cadorin (Thornhill, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Canad Inns Women's Classic in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada;
Carey finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Ashley Howard (Regina, SK) 10-2, then won 8-3 against Darcy Robertson (Winnipeg, MB). Carey went on to lose 6-5 against Cadorin. Carey lost 8-0 to Seina Nakajima (Nagano, JPN) where Carey responded with a 7-3 win over Jamie Sinclair (Chaska, USA). Carey won 6-5 against Penny Barker (Regina, SK), then won 5-4 against Abby Ackland (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Canad Inns Women's Classic Championship title, Carey earned 76.096 world rankings points along with the $15,500CDN first prize cheque.
