Gardner finished 3-1 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gardner defeated Alison Goring (Markham, ON) 8-1, then won 7-6 against Jenna Enge (Thunder Bay, NONT). Gardner went on to lose 9-8 against 's Julie Hastings. Gardner responded with a 10-0 win over Marteen Jones (Lakefield, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel Championship title, Gardner earned 18.310 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 26 spots the World Ranking Standings into 83rd place overall with 43.987 total points.
