Muyres finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muyres defeated Jared Allen (Blaine, MN) 9-2, then won 10-4 against Dominik Maerki (Minneapolis, MN) and 9-1 against Mike Siggins (Tempe, AZ). Muyres won 3-2 against Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
