Bottcher finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher lost 5-4 to Jacobs, then responded with a 5-4 win over Howard. Bottcher won 8-1 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB), then won 7-4 against Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1, Bottcher take home 58.077 world rankings points along with the $15,000CDN prize, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 7th place overall with 370.639 total points.
