Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) won 8-4 over Tracy Fleury (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1, held November 6 - 11, 2018 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 6-5 over Nina Roth (Chaska, USA) in the semifinals of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Thunder Bay, Ontario; and won 5-3 over Laura Walker (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Homan finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Jamie Sinclair (Chaska, USA) 7-3, then won 8-2 against Cory Christensen (Chaska, USA) and 7-2 against Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB). Homan won 8-3 against Chelsea Carey (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 Championship title, Homan earned 77.306 world rankings points along with the $20,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 546.372 total points. Homan ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 285.766 points earned so far this season.
