Gushue went on to lose 8-4 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Gushue responded with a 8-3 win over Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 34.462 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Canadian Beef Masters of Curling, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 547.788 total points. Gushue ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 130.804 points earned so far this season.
