Michael Mueller (Aarau, SUI) run at the 2018 Latvia International Challenger came to an end in the semifinals with a 8-3 loss to Wille Makela (Hyvinkaa, FIN).  of the 2018 Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia; Mueller advanced through the quarterfinals with a 7-6 win over Tadas Vyskupaitis (Vilnius, LTU).  
 
Mueller finished 4-0 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mueller defeated Janis Redlihs (Riga, LAT) 9-5, then won 7-3 against Kriss Vonda (Riga, LAT) and 6-3 against Harri Lill (Tallinn, EST). Mueller won 3-2 against Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Mueller earned 5.212 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Latvia International Challenger, moving up 29 spots the World Ranking Standings into 155th place overall with 18.732 total points. Mueller ranks 148th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.408 points earned so far this season.
