Robin Brydone (Perth, SCO) qualified for the 2018 Latvia International Challenger playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-6 against Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL).  of the 2018 Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia; 
 
Brydone finished 3-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brydone defeated Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU) 7-3, then won 6-1 against Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT) and 10-3 against Martins Truksans (Riga, LAT). Brydone went on to lose 7-4 against Wille Makela (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Brydone earned 3.909 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Latvia International Challenger, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 65th place overall with 65.548 total points.
