Jakub Cervenka (Bratislava, SVK) finished 1-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cervenka lost 7-5 to Gontzal Garcia (San Sebastian, ESP), droppimg another game, 7-2 to Jan Klossner (Langenthal, SUI) where Cervenka responded with a 6-4 win over Jan Borecky (Prague, CZE). Cervenka went on to lose 5-4 against Arvid Norin (Harnosand, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
