Dustin Armstrong (Perth, AUS) finished 4-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Armstrong defeated Ian Gagnon (Melbourne, AUS) 9-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Dean Hewitt (Sydney, AUS). Armstrong responded with a 11-2 win over Gagnon. Armstrong won 10-6 against Hugh Millikin (Sydney, AUS), then won 7-1 against Geoff Davis (Melbourne, AUS). Armstrong went on to lose 10-2 against Hewitt in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Australian Mens Curling Championship, Armstrong take home 10.313 world rankings points, dropping 197 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 197th place overall with 10.313 total points. Armstrong ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.313 points earned so far this season.
