Grant Dezura (Maple Ridge , BC) finished 2-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dezura lost 8-2 to Adam Cseke (Penticton, BC), then responded with a 9-1 win over Chris Medford (Cranbrook, BC). Dezura went on to lose 5-2 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Dezura responded with a 7-1 win over Tyler Klymchuk (Kamloops, BC). Dezura went on to lose 9-6 against Wylie Eden (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Dezura earned 2.227 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 167th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.509 after improving upon their best so far this season. Dezura ranks 121st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.360 points earned so far this season.
