Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) 8-7, then won 8-3 against Marc Muskatewitz (Baden Baden, GER). Mouat went on to lose 8-7 against Mikhail Vaskov (Dmitrov, RUS). Mouat responded with a 8-4 win over Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI). Mouat won 11-2 against Bartosz Dzikowski (Katowice, POL), then won 8-5 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) and 7-6 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Mouat went on to lose 9-8 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Mouat responded with a 10-4 win over Wille Makela (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships Championship title, Mouat earned 63.911 world rankings points. Mouat move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 29.206 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 4th overall with 416.294 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
