Sam Mooibroek (Toronto, ON) finished 5-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mooibroek defeated Ze Zhong Zhang (Changchun, CHN) 7-5, then went on to lose 7-2 against JT Ryan (Winnipeg, MB). Mooibroek lost 9-4 to Liam Marin (Saint John, NB) where Mooibroek responded with a 5-4 win over Switzerland's Gaetan Mancini. Mooibroek won 9-5 against Aiden Poole (Chatham, ON), then won 8-1 against Hang Qu (Harbin, CHN) and 9-6 against Vincent Roberge (Levis, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
