Lucien Lottenbach (Luzern, SUI) lost 5-3 to Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) in the Final of the Dumfries Challenger Series, held December 13 - 16, 2018 at the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club in Sudbury, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Lottenbach won 5-3 over Simon Gempeler (Adelboden, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2018 Dumfries Challenger Series in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-3 over Andrin Schnider (St. Gallen, SUI) in the quarterfinals.
 
Lottenbach finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lottenbach defeated Orrin Carson (Dumfries, SCO) 8-2, then went on to lose 5-4 against Ross Whyte (Dumfries, SCO). Lottenbach responded with a 8-3 win over Blair Haswell (Stranraer, SCO). Lottenbach went on to lose 6-5 against van Dorp in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Dumfries Challenger Series, Lottenbach take home 13.089 world rankings points along with the $3,385CDN prize. Lottenbach move up 23 spots after posting a net gain of 11.171 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 92nd overall with 46.353 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
