Rick Law (Belle River, ON) finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Law defeated Dan Wiza (Chicago, IL) 6-2, then went on to lose 5-3 against Stephen Imes (Columbus, OH). Law responded with a 6-3 win over William Nordine (Kalamazoo, MI) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Kalamazoo Men's Classic Championship title, Law earned 6.606 world rankings points along with the $1,172CDN first prize cheque, moving up 112 spots the World Ranking Standings into 227th place overall with 9.274 total points. Law ranks 134th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.606 points earned so far this season.
