Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) won 8-2 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the Final of the Ontario Tankard, held January 27 - February 3, 2019 in Elmira, Ontario.

McDonald finished 9-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McDonald defeated Colin Dow (Ottawa, ON) 7-3, then won 9-3 against Charley Thomas (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) and 8-5 against Rob Retchless (Toronto, ON). McDonald won 7-5 against Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON), then won 8-2 against Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON) and 7-3 against Dayna Deruelle (Harriston, ON). McDonald won 8-4 against Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON), then won 8-3 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) and 8-4 against Epping in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Ontario Tankard Championship title, McDonald earned 31.883 world rankings points. For week 25 of the event schedule, McDonald did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. McDonald ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
