Friesen finished 3-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Friesen defeated Ghislain Courcelles (Winnipeg, MB) 8-2, then won 7-3 against Brayden Payette (Brandon, MB) and 6-1 against Jack Hykaway (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
