Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS) won 5-4 over Rod Aube (Fredericton, NB) in the Final of the Steele Cup Cash, held October 12 - 14, 2018 at the Capital Winter Curling Club in Fredericton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Murphy won 7-3 over James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) in the semifinals of the 2018 Steele Cup Cash in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 8-3 over Paul Dobson (Saint John, NB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Steele Cup Cash in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada;

Murphy finished 1-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy defeated Zac Blanchard (Saint John, NB) 8-1, then went on to lose 8-4 against Aube. Murphy lost 7-2 to Ed Cyr (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Steele Cup Cash Championship title, Murphy earned 13.144 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 37th place overall with 101.969 total points.
