Murphy finished 1-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy defeated Zac Blanchard (Saint John, NB) 8-1, then went on to lose 8-4 against Aube. Murphy lost 7-2 to Ed Cyr (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
