Yang responded with a 6-5 win over Cait Flannery (Chaska, USA). Yang went on to lose 6-4 against Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Yang earned 5.586 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 37 spots the World Ranking Standings into 167th place overall with 12.155 total points. Yang ranks 185th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.586 points earned so far this season.
