Hegner finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hegner defeated Raphaela Keiser (Flims, SUI) 7-3, then went on to lose 5-4 against Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS). Hegner responded with a 6-5 win over Iveta Stasa-Sarsune (Riga, LAT). Hegner won 4-2 against Sophie Jackson (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
