To advance to the championship game, Young won 7-6 over Justin Gray (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2018 Lakeshore U21 Junior Mens Spiel in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada;
 
Young finished 1-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Young lost 6-3 to Weagle, then responded with a 10-2 win over Mitchell Schut (Cornwall, PEI). Young went on to lose 8-4 against Gray in their final qualifying round match.
