Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) lost 3-1 to John Shuster (Duluth, USA) in the Final of the Curling World Cup Omaha, held December 5 - 9, 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Edin finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Yuta Matsumura (Sapporo, JPN) 7-4, then went on to lose 6-3 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Edin responded with a 8-2 win over Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Edin won 7-2 against Matsumura, then won 7-2 against Ulsrud and 8-4 against Schwaller in their final qualifying round match.
